In 1974 the Boys & Girls Club of Baldwin Park was founded in response to various community concerns such as levels of youth delinquency, gang involvement and drug use. Since our inception we have been advocating for those youth and providing services to meet their needs in this and surrounding communities. Guided by a philosophy which views the hours after school as the time when youth are particularly at risk due to a lack of both appropriate supervision and constructive activities, the Club has strived to fill that void.
At our Baldwin Park site, we run a licensed Early Learning Center for the youngest of youth, ages 2-5. Our Early Learning Center offers play-based and academic instruction for our youngest members so that they are kindergarten ready. We also provide the children with opportunities for social interaction to develop their social and emotional wellness.
We also offer Boys & Girls Club programming for youth ages 6-12.
The Club site features modern classrooms, games room and computer lab. The Baldwin Park Clubhouse is located inside the Esther Snyder Community Center with access to swimming pool, basketball gym, City park and splash pad.
